See what AI engines see when they read your page.

AI engines read your page, then decide whether to cite it or move on. Here's what separates the two.

Not cited

The page AI engines pass over

It ranks well in Google's blue links, but an AI engine can't pull a clear answer from it, so it gets left out when the AI composes its response.

  • Keyword density and placement, tuned for rankings, not citations
  • Backlink profile, built for authority, not for AI answers
  • Meta tags and title optimization, meant for search listings, not AI extraction
  • Page speed and Core Web Vitals, good for ranking, not for getting cited

The page AI engines extract and cite

It gives an AI engine a clear answer to extract, backed by structured data and authority signals, so it gets named as the source instead of skipped.

  • Answer-first content structure, gives AI engines something to extract
  • Structured data and schema markup, so AI engines can read your facts accurately
  • Authority signals and citations, evidence AI engines can point to
  • AI bot accessibility and llms.txt, so the engine can reach your content at all

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about myGEOscore.

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO is the practice of optimizing your website content so that AI-powered search engines (like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) can better understand, extract, and cite your information. It's the evolution of traditional SEO for the age of AI search.

How is the GEO score calculated?

Your GEO score is calculated across 51 factors in 7 categories. Category weights depend on the type of page: on an article, for example, they run Content (21.25%), Authority & Trust (21.25%), Citability (17%), AI Visibility (15%), Schema (12.75%), Technical (8.5%) and Brand (4.25%). AI Visibility carries 15% under every page type, and it counts on the paid report only: a free analysis cannot run the citation checks, so it drops that category and renormalises the six that remain. Each factor is scored 0-10, then weighted to produce your overall score from 0-100. See the methodology page for the full weight table by page type.

Is the free analysis really free?

Yes! The free analysis gives you your overall GEO score, grade, category breakdown, and top 5 improvement tips. No credit card required. You only pay if you want the detailed report with factor-by-factor analysis, code snippets, and a prioritized action plan.

How long does the analysis take?

Most analyses complete in under 15 seconds. Our engine crawls your page, parses the HTML, runs all factor analyzers in parallel (including the AI overview checker against Google AI Overviews on the paid tier), and calculates your score in real-time.

What's included in the paid report?

The paid report includes detailed scores for all 51 factors, specific recommendations with code snippets (like schema markup you can copy-paste), a prioritized action plan sorted by impact, and a downloadable PDF report.

Can I analyze any website?

You can analyze any publicly accessible webpage. The URL must be a valid http or https address. Private pages, pages behind login walls, or localhost URLs cannot be analyzed.

How often should I re-analyze my site?

We recommend re-analyzing after making significant content or technical changes. For active sites, monthly checks help you track your GEO progress over time.

What happens after I buy?

Your full report is available right away, and we keep watching the page for you. myGEOscore re-scans the same URL once a month, 3 times in total, and emails you a report at the address you bought with. Each email carries the new score, what moved since the previous run, and whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews cite you. The report page shows the same comparison against your previous run. Every re-scan email has a link where you can pause or stop the re-scans in one click, no account needed.

How reliable are the AI citation checks?

The citation checks are a point-in-time snapshot: we ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews whether they cite your page at the moment you run the report. AI engines change their answers over time, which is why every purchase includes 3 monthly re-scans, so you can track whether citations appear, change or disappear.

Do I need SEO knowledge to read the report?

No. The report gives you a prioritized action plan and copy-paste code snippets written for non-experts, so you do not need any SEO or technical background to act on it.
